Make It Happen.\u201d moments \u2014 powerful examples of the city\u2019s collective strength in collaboration. But there are many more.<br \/>This is a look back at ten years of the Rotterdam. Make It Happen. brand alliance \u2014 a partnership that has grown from seven Rotterdam-based organizations in 2014 to forty in 2024. Together, they have created countless \u201cMake It Happen\u201d moments, positioning Rotterdam on the world map as a circular, healthy, smart, and vibrant (port) city. <\/p>\n<p>In December, <em>Rotterdam. Make it Happen. <\/em>en ook hoe wij daar als station bij pasten&#8217;, aldus Rotterdam Centraal Station.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ssrotterdam.nl\/\">ss Rotterdam<\/a> highlights the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssrotterdam.nl\/podcast\/\">Patrijspoortcast <\/a>as its standout moment a podcast bringing together unique stories about the ship\u2019s rich history.<\/p>\n<p>For Spido, receiving the Royal designation in 2019 was the defining milestone.<br \/>Meanwhile, the Maritime Museum recalls exhibitions such as <em>Destination Port City,<\/em> <em>Anchored?!<\/em>, <em>and Splash! The Future of the Sea.<\/em> These exhibitions were created in collaboration with both Rotterdammers and Rotterdam-based organizations, illustrating how we collectively tell and share stories \u2014 allowing everyone to experience the city\u2019s maritime heritage, both past and present. Rotterdam Partners affirms this spirit:<br \/>\u201cThat\u2019s what we do as a brand alliance. En met het <g id=\"gid_2\">Oogziekenhuis<\/g> dat dit jaar 150 jaar bestaat, heeft het museum een gezamenlijke jubileumactie opgezet. Ook dit zijn opvallende samenwerkingsmomenten in de stad geweest waar de <strong>\u2018Make It Happen\u2019-mentaliteit<\/strong> zichtbaar was.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/placebased.nl\/\">Placebased<\/a> heeft het niet zozeer over een opvallend \u2018Make It Happen\u2019-moment, maar over een ontwikkeling, een mijlpaal: \u2018Wij zijn uitgegroeid van \u00e9\u00e9n broedplaats tot meerdere locaties, zoals <a href=\"https:\/\/dekroonrotterdam.nl\/\">de Kroon<\/a> en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.keilewerf.nl\/over-de-werf\/\">Keilewerf 2<\/a>, in Rotterdam waar creatieve en innovatieve makers betaalbare werkplekken vinden. Zo kunnen de makers bijdragen aan de verdere ontwikkeling van Rotterdam. Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam noemt de samenwerking op het gebied van content met de gemeente Rotterdam, de RET, <a href=\"https:\/\/rotterdamtopsport.nl\/\">Rotterdam Topsport<\/a> en het <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portofrotterdam.com\/nl\">Havenbedrijf Rotterdam<\/a> een mijlpaal. Bovendien is er intensief samengewerkt bij de opening van het school-\/academisch jaar. \u2018Dit kan alleen via de merkalliantie zo makkelijk\u2019, aldus de universiteit. Rotterdam Centraal Station heeft het zelfs over twee mijlpalen: \u2018We hebben twee keer een ontbijt voor Rotterdamse maatschappelijke initiatieven op het station georganiseerd. En <a href=\"https:\/\/diergaardeblijdorp.nl\/nl\">Diergaarde Blijdorp <\/a>heeft ons geselecteerd als \u00e9\u00e9n van de acht stadsiconen waarmee ze zichtbaarheid cre\u00ebren voor hun campagne voor het behoud van acht met uitsterven bedreigde diersoorten.\u2019[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]<blockquote class=\"br-custom-quote\">Diergaarde Blijdorp selected us as one of the eight city icons.<\/blockquote>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/1&#8243;][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;175018&#8243;]<strong>The Power of the Brand Alliance<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cFor us, <em>Rotterdam. Make It Happen<\/em>. represents a platform that elevates our mission to a higher level,\u201d says Placebased. \u201cIt gives us the opportunity <strong>to be visible <\/strong>as an active player in the city and to be part of a larger story one in which we collectively work toward a better future for Rotterdam. It encourages us to initiate projects that not only have local impact but can also serve as an example for other cities.\u201d<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eur.nl\/\">Erasmus University Rotterdam<\/a> highlights another strength of the alliance:<br \/>\u201cThrough Rotterdam. In short: the brand alliance connects, innovates, and accelerates. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Meegroeien met Rotterdam<br \/>\n<\/strong>Rotterdam is continu in beweging; de stad en haven zijn nooit hetzelfde, ze veranderen en groeien. Zichtbaar &#8211; denk maar aan nieuwe gebouwen &#8211; en onzichtbaar, zoals visies en meningen van bewoners en organisaties. Wat merken de merkpartners hiervan en hoe spelen ze hierop in?  <\/p>\n<p>Erasmus University Rotterdam observes a growing social awareness and activism among its students \u2014 a generation eager to take action. Students are, for example, calling for a more sustainable or vegan campus and advocating for the cutting of ties with the fossil fuel industry. The sea, oceans, and rivers play a central role in these stories.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Rotterdam Central Station strives to adapt to change, in part by listening to the voices of social organizations:<br \/>\u201cWe reflect on themes such as poverty, environmental care, and the livability of the city because every day we welcome a true cross-section of Rotterdam\u2019s community.\u201d<br \/>And Spido? They keep sailing through all weather conditions \u2014 a perfect reflection of Rotterdam\u2019s resilience and determination. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Looking Ahead<\/strong><br \/>\nLooking toward the future, stronger and more sustainable collaboration on key themes for both the city and the port is high on every partner\u2019s agenda. But there\u2019s much more in the pipeline. Here\u2019s a glimpse of what\u2019s to come:  <\/p>\n<p>Spido, for example, has announced that it will join <a href=\"https:\/\/greenbookings.nl\">Greenbookings<\/a> a <em>platform that plants trees with every event<\/em> booking. Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, on the other hand, aims to contribute to emancipation and renewal: \u201cThis can be achieved by <strong>being open to people\u2019s expectations, ideas, thoughts, and dreams<\/strong> and by daring to explore the unknown. The museum listens, but doesn\u2019t simply present what others prescribe. It is precisely the unknown, the unexpected, and even the unloved that can broaden and transform our view of the world.<br \/>\nThe museum connects people through art. It serves as a platform for stories \u2014 by people, for people, with people \u2014 from the city or from far away. <strong>These are often stories about who we are, what unites us, and what sets us apart.\u201d<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]<blockquote class=\"br-custom-quote\">We want to improve the lives of Rotterdammers.<\/blockquote>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/1&#8243;][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;138789&#8243;]Erasmus University Rotterdam emphasizes the importance of focusing on the city\u2019s <strong>vibrancy, culture, and diversity<\/strong>: \u201cWe want to improve the lives of Rotterdammers through science and nurture talent within the city. Make It Happen.<\/p>\n<p>The partners believed that Rotterdam needed a stronger positioning and a clearer, unified story about what the city stands for \u2014 to attract and retain talent, businesses, visitors, and residents. This made it a unique and forward-thinking collaboration at the time. <\/p>\n<p>Later, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam Festivals, and Rotterdam Topsport joined as alliance partners. The joint approach proved successful and attracted many other Rotterdam-based organizations.Today, forty partners are working together under the Rotterdam.
