From its roots in New York in the 1980s, it has grown into the most popular cultural movement in the world: multicultural, diverse, and constantly evolving. Or you go and decorate containers with paint.<\/blockquote>[vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;100185&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Raw port city<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Street culture is everywhere in Rotterdam, and Rico van Bronckhorst of RSCW isn\u2019t surprised. \u2018Rotterdam has always been a raw port city, with a lot happening on the street. There are many people who don\u2019t have a lot of money. If parents can\u2019t pay for things, kids just head outside. And outside you can play football, dance, play basketball. Outside you can hang off poles, jump over fences. Or you go and decorate containers with paint.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The make-up of Rotterdam\u2019s population also plays a role in the city\u2019s status as a street culture city, according to Rico. \u2018Rotterdam is a hugely diverse and multicultural city. Under the <a href=\"https:\/\/roffa.nu\/\">Roffa<\/a> name, a platform has been created that brings together everything within Rotterdam\u2019s street culture and gives a stage to everything happening in the city. I grew up used to different cultures and know how to navigate them. In other countries I notice that groups tend to live separately. It&#8217;s a city full of cool individuals and one-of-a-kind people. All that talent comes together and forms a creative engine.
