[vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/1″][vc_column_text]Rotterdam public transport travelers can now easily take a shared bicycle or e-scooter. This is the result of a collaboration between RET, the Municipality of Rotterdam and eight mobility providers. Maurice Unck, general director of RET: \u201cDuring the corona crisis, we worked hard to be able to offer people the best journey in the future. To this end, bringing together means of transport<\/strong> is the key: physical and digital. This collaboration is an important next step.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last year the RET already introduced the collaboration with Check, felyx, GO Sharing (e-scooters) and Donkey Republic (bicycles and e-bikes). Watertaxi, Lime (bicycles), BAQME (electric cargo bikes) and MyWheels (cars) are now also connected. With this campaign they encourage travelers to combine their means of transport with a ride at the RET \u2013 and vice versa. Often this is also with a discount. The RET Real Time App also shows where (cargo) bicycles, scooters, water taxis and cars from the various providers are available.<\/p>\n

Even easier to combine means of transport. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The collaboration will make it even easier for travelers in the future to park their car on the edge of the city, continue their journey by metro and cover the last part by bicycle or scooter. It will also be easier to take the cargo bike to the nearest public transport point if you want to go out with the children or to go to a shared car by public transport and then go a day out with the car. In short: combining becomes easier.<\/p>\n

Switch to shared transport<\/strong>
\nThe Municipality of Rotterdam stimulates<\/span><\/span>\u00a0the use of shared transport and helps to decide on the locations of the means of transport. Judith Bokhove, Alderman for Mobility, Youth and Language: \u201cThis collaboration will connect public transport with the city even better. For the last part of your journey through Rotterdam you will soon be able to take a shared bicycle or scooter. And that makes it even more attractive to travel to Rotterdam by public transport.\u201d
