The corona crisis is a hard time and a lot of young people are sitting at home. Boredom sets in and they increasingly suffer from loneliness and stress. That is why the Erasmus MC has collaborated with Erasmus University Rotterdam and Gemeente Rotterdam to develop the Grow It! app: an app that keeps track of how they are feeling during these difficult times. On a daily basis, the app keeps track of their state of mind and challenges them with a lot of fun games. This gives them more insights about themselves and helps them with their mental health, especially in the times when they need it the most!
Several partners have joined forces to help youngsters during these difficult times. The results form the basis of scientific research and help to improve their well-being. And this feels good! The different partners have the ambition to make even more social impact, says Prof. Dr. M.H.J. (Manon) Hillegers, Professor of child and adolescent psychiatrist: “We are proud that we will be able to develop, test and implement more applications in the future. We do this from Rotterdam, but also with national partners, such as Philips Vital Health, IJsfontein and Ivido. In addition, we train a new generation professionals, so that they can implement eHealth even further in their future work”.
The GrowIt! app can be played for free until May 31, 2021 as part of scientific research. Www.Growitapp.nl/corona
