Fabulous Funghi at BlueCity

BlueCity is a model city for the circular and blue economy and home to 55 entrepreneurs and a meeting place for pioneers and enterprising minds, where they develop a framework for action, whether to grow their impact, live a zero waste life, or develop a future-proof material. It is located in a former tropical swimming paradise on the river Maas in Rotterdam. One of the innovative start-up entrepreneurs at BlueCity is Fabulous Funghi, run by Ilse Kremer (photo). One of the major problems in the fashion industry is water pollution caused by the harmful textile dyes. Fabulous Funghi formulates a solution to this by using fungi for a sustainable textile dye. Fabulous Fungi grows different fungal species in order to create multiple colours.
