Luxor Theater Rotterdam

Met twee unieke theaterzalen – het 106 jaar oude Luxor en sinds 23 jaar het nieuwe Luxor – is het Luxor Theater een van de grootste theaters van Nederland. We zijn niet alleen toonaangevend op het gebied van cabaret, musicals en (internationale) theaterconcerten, maar bieden ook een breed georiënteerde stadsprogrammering waarmee we lokale artiesten in de spotlight zetten en een opstap bieden voor (beginnende) theatermakers. Met Café Dox, ons inpandige horecagelegenheid die voor iedereen toegankelijk is, brengen we Luxor dichter bij de stad en de stad dichter bij Luxor.

Missie
Luxor is een organisatie die zich onlosmakelijk wil verbinden met de Rotterdamse samenleving. Luxor wil in haar theaters (inter)nationaal entertainment van hoge kwaliteit bereikbaar maken voor alle Rotterdammers en met haar publieke programma structureel investeren in de ontwikkeling, verbinding en het geluk van alle inwoners van de stad.

Vision
By the end of 2028, Luxor will have evolved from being primarily a presenting theater into a theater with a strong social role as well.

Luxor and the City
Luxor brings the city together and opens its doors to the people of Rotterdam.
Through our city programming, we create a space where Rotterdam’s stories, talents, and diversity come to life.
Our long-term goal is to become a true “third place” — a space away from home (your first place) and school or work (your second place) — where people love to come, feel connected, and are part of a community.
We offer an accessible and inspiring environment where Rotterdammers can meet, grow, explore, and connect.
By combining art, culture, and dialogue, we strengthen the neighborhood and help build an inclusive future — one where every Rotterdammer feels at home at Luxor.

The city programming takes place throughout our entire building — from the foyers and theater hall to our Café Dox and Container Staircase, which serve as central stages for creativity and connection.
