SAWA is the first timber residential building over 50 meters tall in Rotterdam. The building consists of 109 homes, with a mix of owner-occupied and mid-market rental units, and is designed to promote sustainability and social inclusivity. SAWA is fully gas-free, all-electric, and energy-neutral, and features green terraces and shared spaces that contribute to biodiversity and quality of life in the city. Rif010, ‘s werelds eerste kunstmatige stedelijke surfpool
In the summer of 2024 (July 6), Rif010 opened in the heart of Rotterdam during the Rotterdam Surf Open: a world first! The surf pool is located at Steigersgracht and extends over 125 meters long and 25 meters wide. Perfect waves of up to 1.5 meters are generated from the wave installation, which then roll towards the Wezenbrug and come to rest on the pebble beach. An artificial reef ensures that the waves break naturally. At the end of the wave pool a softer wave is created, ideal for beginners who want to discover the sport. RiF010 uses 100% sustainably generated energy to generate the waves and in the beach house. In addition to surfing, canoes or stand-up paddleboards can be rented at RiF010. You can enjoy a drink on the terrace.
