Albeda

Albeda is a regional training center (ROC) for vocational education (MBO) and adult education.
As one of the largest regional education providers in the Netherlands, Albeda sees itself as an educator of the future for both the city and the country.

The city and region’s engine of empowerment

We helpen onze studenten aan een goede (start)positie op de arbeidsmarkt én dragen bij aan de totstandkoming van ondernemende en verantwoordelijke burgers. Rotterdam en de regio Rijnmond sprankelt van diversiteit en talent. Als emancipatiemotor wil Albeda een fundamentele bijdrage leveren aan de ontwikkeling daarvan, en de bestrijding van sociale problematiek in de regio. Veel studenten hebben extra begeleiding nodig om succesvol hun opleiding te kunnen volgen. Wij nemen onze rol hierin, juist omdat voor veel studenten onze school één van de weinige vaste sociale verbanden is.

Accessible to everyone

Albeda strives to be an open and accessible school, welcoming everyone who wants and is able to learn regardless of background. Our school is an innovative environment that offers space to learn, explore, and develop talents. It is a place where creativity, ideas, and people come together. At Albeda, the school is the training ground, and the city is our workplace. This approach allows us to build strong connections internally and collaborate externally with Rotterdam and its partners. We can only achieve this when it’s clear what Albeda stands for — a clarity deeply rooted in our mission and core values.

Albeda aims to offer excellent and inspiring education to everyone who wants to learn — both students and professionals.
Here, students discover and develop their talents and strengths, and we help them grow into skilled, entrepreneurial professionals who take on an active and sustainable role in society.

Learning workingplaces

We offer students and professionals opportunities to develop their talents through what we call learning workplaces both within the school (simulation environments) and outside in real-life practice.
Here, students, staff, businesses, and institutions learn with and from each other, with a focus on results, practical experience, and innovation.

A Bridge and a Gateway
As a Regional Education Center (ROC), Albeda serves as both a bridge between pre-vocational and higher education and a gateway for students entering Rotterdam’s business community and institutions across the Rijnmond region.
This makes Albeda an essential driver in raising the level of education, strengthening entrepreneurship, enhancing prosperity, and revitalizing not just Rotterdam, but the entire region — and ultimately, society as a whole.
