At Rotterdam Central Station, we open our doors wide to everyone who wants to be part of it. From local residents with an original idea to make the station more attractive, to local citymakers with plans and initiatives that contribute to a more liveable environment.

A station only truly comes to life through all its visitors and travellers — but also through the people who work here every day. Like the Kiosk employee who makes your cup of coffee. Or the colleague in the bicycle parking who gets your OV-bike ready. And not to forget the cleaner who keeps the station shining. Together, they make sure that more than 100,000 visitors and travellers feel welcome, every single day.

Looking at the many people flowing through, you could call the station a gateway to the city. Or perhaps even a modern village square, where everyone comes together and there is always something happening. Under our roof, you might be surprised by a performance or exhibition by local heroes. Or by pop-ups at the event space in the middle of the main hall — programmed 26 weeks a year by Rotterdam Festivals. More and more, we are creating visible collaborations with social and cultural organisations across the city, such as Uitagenda Rotterdam.
