Tired of your dirty sneakers? Pim Roggeveen and Lorenzo van Galen have a solution for that! With their social enterprise WEAR they give old sneakers a second life. This way you can enjoy your sneakers for a longer period of time and, at the same time, help people with a distance to the labor market. The result: fresh kicks and a fresh start!
WEAR works closely together with Heilige Boontjes for the training of their staff. This coffee place helps young people with a criminal past finding a new job. They will become the official “sneaker doctors”, giving them the opportunity to take the next step in their career.
Dirty sneakers in the trash? Don’t think so! Each year, 300 million unworn sneakers end up on the garbage pile. What a sneakershame! Besides that, the fast fashion industry emits even more CO2 than the aviation industry. They want to make things as simple as possible for their clients. For €49 per year, customers can have three pair shoes cleaned per month. More clean sneakers provide more jobs, and that is exactly what WEAR is about!
WEAR shows that Rotterdam is the city where people do not get in each other’s way, but rather work together. You can find WEAR on the Van Oldenbarnerveltstraat 113. Feel free to walk by or follow WEAR on Instagram via @wearstorenl.
